What happened in 'THE BRANDERY Winter 2012?

Photobucket

'The Brandery' is local trade show created by the city council of Barcelona who aspires to replace the global trade show, the huge 'Bread & Butter' who used to be celebrated in the 'Condal City' but for unclear reasons came back to Berlin some years ago.

'The Brandery Winter 2012' under the slogan Love your way, showed the collections of several important street brands, had different fashion shows and a lot activities related with fashion and lifestyle, like concerts, performances... Also in a special area, the visitors we could watch the amazing job of young designers, visual merchandisers and stylists from local schools. That was one of my favourite parts.

My reunion with Custo Barcelona

One of the most visited stands in this trade show, was the one dedicated to the 'glocal' designer Custo Dalmau (global + local, because Dalmau is well known internationally but also is really admired in Bacelona).

In this Brandery I met with Custo, who I haven't seen him since 2006, when I was a working in the company as Visual Merchandiser. I gave my congratulations to him, because honestly I enjoyed a lot watching his show at the Brandery catwalk.

Also I think he is good guy, very hard worker,  and he has created a very personal brand with a style so recognizable. When Custo asked to me, what are you doing now? I said to him, I am blogger, and he smiled, so I think he should be proud of me. I really think so, at least he understands perfectly the blogosphere not like others....

Knit, prints and denim are the classic musts by Custo for the next Winter 12-13'.
The sexy Fashion & Fetish

An stand dedicated to the most over reacted eroticism, sensuality, and sex in a fashionable and very hot way. Leather, feathers, glitter, latex...not really appropriated for shy people.

The worst part, the boring Blogger Meeting

The worst part about my Brandery experience was the 'Blogger Meeting'. The director of the conference started the chat with the literal definition of blog, I suppose he got that from wikipedia. But come on!!, everybody there were bloggers, so we knew perfectly what a blog is.

The rest of the meeting was also nothing productive, I was expecting to get new task or advices about the social media and blogosphere, instead of that the lecturers only gave me some negative impressions about the bloggers, so fifteen minutes after the meeting finished I decided to left. But before I left the boring meeting, I gave my opinion about how much disappointing I was for some of negative comments I heard in that nothing productive meeting.
