PAUL & JOE Homme Fall/Winter 2012-2013 at Harcourt Studio in Paris

When I received the mail from Paul & Joe to invite me to enjoy the presentation of the new collection in the Menswear Paris Fashion Week I though instantly, this is going to be more than great. So without a doubt I started to planning my short trip to this lovely city. First of all I though to stay in Paris the complete fashion week, but I had some important appointments, like 'the Brandery' in Barcelona, the recording of a new short movie also in the 'Condal City' and some events confirmed, so it couldn't be that time, but no worries the next season I promise I'll spend more time and shows in the universal capital of the fashion, I hope so...

My quick trip was a twenty hours adventure but it worth it so much, was a productive and so inspirational time. The worst part was when I arrived to Spain and tried to get the pictures that I took in the event, my tablet was wrong and it was no possible download the images from there to my computer, so imagine my rage...and advice do not buy the new Galaxy Tablet, they are not working properly. Finally, thank god, I have got all the pictures about the incredible collection, and of course I want to share with you guys. I hope you enjoy watching as much I did alive and kicking in the event-show.

The idea of the presentation was a different proposal instead of the traditional catwalk Paul & Joe offered an activity day in the antique, classic and so much classy Harcourt Studio, one the best places in Paris to take studio pictures. The space is amazing with a lovely lightning and furniture what it matched perfectly with the leit motiv of the collection. But I will tell you more about the Harcourt in a following post.

The nice models - we were hanging out all the time - were playing with us (not only striking poses) they attend to media, they drink and eat like the rest of the guests and the best part they were having chats with everybody, because as I think you can see, these guys are more than handsome faces and hottie bodies, they are quite intelligent. By the way I think this way will be the future of some fashion brands, exclusive events for specialized people who enjoy the fashion and lifestyle with passion and love.
The Homme Collection from Paul & Joe for the new Fall/Winter 12-13 season is elegant, smart, sophisticated and so masculine, but also has a vintage and retro touch who personally is very look like my personal style, you will see in the pictures. The tailoring was a the main part of the collection, perfects suits with a regular cut confectioned with luxury material like the best tweed and so soft wools. The three pieces suits will be fundamental basics like always in the male wardrobes, but this time you will play with the textures and prints, always in a proper colour combination. Brown, curry, camel, beige, grey scale and navy are the main colour which are combined with touches in yellow, lavender, burgundy, orange an lilac.

About the prints such a tradition in the firm you will find since liberty flowers, tartan checks, animal prints (not only leopard), stripes, and wallpaper prints who remind me to sixties and seventies. Garçón looks a bit gangster a bit Brit, with a parisien last touch. Bohemian outfits for a contemporary dandy who besides is a modern and very hard working man.

My favourites items are the velvet pieces, the tailoring overcoats and of course the leopard suit. But also I enjoyed a lot with the refined accessories such as the leather and canvas backpack, the vintage look military boots, the immaculate glasses line and the fedoras and borsalinos classic hats besides the newspaper cups in tweed, because as you already know I am bit mad-hatter.

Three thinks you should know about Paul & Joe:
  1. Sophie Albou is the parisian designer who created the label in 1990. The brand started only with the menswear line and in 1995 they decided to create the womenswear line.
  2. Paul & Joe has points for sale in all over the world, The collections are available in around twelve different countries, but also you can buy on-line. I recognise I love shopping on line without stress and sitting in my comfortable sofa drinking tea and smoking like a Sir.
  3. The Paul & Joe must haves for the new season are (this is my point of view): the high neck sweaters in cashmere, the wool and velvet tailoring suits, the silk scarves, the fantastic overcoats, trenchs and aviator jackets and of course the brilliant ties, pochettes (pocket squares) and bow-ties.
